Tuesday Night Ramblings

My eyes are a little better today. Thanks to you who commented, even Alicia and Lori who were mean about it:) I know its gross....but I couldn't help but post that picture. Anyway, I started a class tonight teaching a couple of ladies how to sew. I love teaching sewing almost as much as I enjoy sewing. Teaching children everyday, I forget how it is to teach people who don't groan every time you tell them something. Samuel actually told me the other day he didn't care about learning to read.....why would he need to be smart. I guess he thought if he didn't care about reading, I would just say "oh OK well if you don't want to be smart we just won't have school anymore." So it was really fun tonight to teach ladies who really wanted to learn. Abby is very interested in learning to sew. I let her use my machine today to make a baby blanket. I think I will teach her to make a dress next. That is the beauty of homeschooling, we can focus on what we are interested in. Maybe Samuel will show an interest in something soon.....like reading! Erin reads anything she can get her hands on....and she is becoming a good reader. Any home school Mama knows you breath a sigh of relief when your children start reading well. Well its way past my bed time......

Just a Thought.....

a word from my daddy on a monday morning.......
watch your thoughts; they become words.
watch your words; they become actions.
watch your actions; they become habits.
watch your habits; they become character.
watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Friday Fluff and Stuff

It's finally Friday. It has been a long week! I'm thankful for the weekend. We even took the first two days of the week off but it still seemed like a long week. When we get to the end of the week it's nice if I can see that we accomplished something. I like to see that they have learned new concepts every week.

Tonight we are off to the game with Dave. It is in Verbena. That's a long way. I am going as a chaperon. This will be the first game I have been to. Abby has been to several and loves the students. Erin is begging to stay with Lori or Giny, and Samuel doesn't care, he just knows he's going to the "flitball" game. We are loving Fall. We have opened the windows to let the cool fresh air in. And hopefully it will help to lower our huge power bill. This is definitely my favorite time of year. Oct. through December is such a fun time.

So this is my latest ebay delima. I sold two holiday barbies for Tracy(my sister). I mailed them off on Tuesday.....got and email yesterday that I had mailed the wrong barbies to the people. So it is gonna cost me around $18 to fix this problem. You know sometimes it seems like I don't make money on ebay. I end up spending money......so frustrating!!!! Oh well.

Somewhere In the Middle

Somewhere between the hot and the cold
Somewhere between the new and the old
Somewhere between who I am and who I used to be
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me
Somewhere between the wrong and the right
Somewhere between the darkness and the light
Somewhere between who I was and who You're making me
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me
Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control
Fearless warriors in a picket fence, reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
With eyes wide open to the differences, the God we want and the God who is
But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
Are we caught in the middle
Somewhere between my heart and my hands
Somewhere between my faith and my plans
Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves
Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
Somewhere between the altar and the door
Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Somewhere in the middle You'll find me
Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control
Lord, I feel You in this place and I know You're by my side
Loving me even on these nights when I'm caught in the middle

No More Training Wheels

There is something sad about that statement.....no more training wheels. It means I don't have a baby anymore. Samuel is now a big boy. He has gotten so tall and is beginning to take a real interest in his appearance. He now tells me how he would like his hair to look. He will be six next month so I know he is not a baby..........but I will miss him being the baby. He still has trouble pronouncing his R's......and I like it. I like to hear him say Bird and Purse in the cute little way he says them. He is a unique little boy. He has a fascination with swords and fighting the battle. He loves rope. He ties up his toys and the furniture and the van to the truck:) He loves for me to read him stories and he still cuddles up with me and sucks his thumb. He never lets Dave leave without running down the steps and hugging him. He is a sweet boy most of the time. So no more training wheels for Samo. He learned how to ride his bike without them last week with Granddaddy's help. He did it in his sock feet too! I am not sure where his shoes were.
