Today's appointment didn't go as we had hoped. The difficult thing about LMS is that it moves through the blood stream. It also can't really be graded. Dr. Ravi is concerned that it is already traveling to other parts of the body. Dave has lots of tests this week and he will see Dr. Ravi again on Friday. So this is the plan. Dave will begin chemotherapy on Monday here at MD Anderson. Dr. Ravi said that after a few weeks he will be able to tell if the chemo is working to kill the cells. Then he will have radiation followed by surgery in about 6 months. They are watching the tumor react to the chemo and radiation before they remove it. Dr. Ravi is glad that he is able to treat Dave from the beginning. Had the tumor been removed, he feels like more cancer would have occurred elsewhere in the body. Chemotherapy is a must!
Today was difficult. So please continue to pray for our family. Our kids will be joining us here next week. We miss them!

Praying Lisa. We love you guys! Do you guys have any kind of address for out there?
Praying for Mr. Swinney and your family!
You have been in my thoughts so much today ... but I am reminded that God's thoughts toward you are so numerous, they can't even be counted. That assures me that everything is going according to His perfect plan, no matter how difficult it is to understand. I am praying ... asking ... seeking ... knocking ... and I know He is listening and doing exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think. As Dave begins chemo, I will pray that God will show Himself so STRONG in him, and you, Lisa. And I know God's grace is sufficient for your every need. I love you all very much.
Praying for all of you!
We are praying for you all. It is now that I am reminded that our great God has not been caught off guard by this set of circumstances. He knows exactly what has happened and what will happen. He is faithful to do abundantly more than we can ask or imagine. We love you both.
Many prayers being offered up on all of your behalfs! If I can do anything else, please let me know!
I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you all. I had Mr. Sweeney at Heflin. I will always remember the impact he had on me. I could not play worth a flip when I started and wanted to quit but he devoted time to staying after school two days a week for like a month. I went from last to first or second each time. Since then I have a passion for playing when i get to and have done competitions. I will never forget him for that. I am praying for strength for him and your family. God will provide. He is a healer and comforter.

Dave and Lisa, we are keeping you in our prayers. God is good. He is listening to all these people that love you. I will be praying for mercy, grace and his perfect will for you in this situation. We love you both: Jeff and Laura Satterfield
Praying for you. You are so special and I know there are a tremendous amount of emotions to work through. Praying for answers, peace and comfort. Love you both!
PS: If you need anything let me know. I can keep your puppy if needed.
Lisa,
Jeff and I love you both very much! We are praying for all of you! You two are like family to us, a brother and sister who have been apart of very important events in our lives. If you need anything at all, if you need someone to check on the house periodically, or keep up the outside we don't mind at all! You know we're always in Weaver anyway. We can even mail you a green apple slushi and some candy if need be : ) We love you both and are here for whatever you may need! Give Dave our love...that would include a bear hug from Jeff.
Love you!
